Truro's game at Werrington on Saturday was called off due to rain and drizzle when the home team looked in a strong position.

In reply to Truro's 168 all out Werrington were 121 without loss after 38 overs when the game was abandoned. Truro salvaged nine points from the game to move back above Camborne, who were without a game, into second place in the table. St Just, however, have a healthy lead of 33 points and have two games in hand.

After being put in, only Ben Price of the Truro top order played a major innings. After Adrian Pooley bowled fellow opener Tim Marrion for 3 Price went on to make 39 that included four boundaries.

Darren Johns got rid of Sharp for 12 and Tunnadine, who was caught by Mark Horwell for 18 that included four boundaries, to make it 54 for 3. Chris Martin made 19 before being bowled by Ben Smeeth who followed up by getting rid of Price.

Truro had lost half their side for 100. Jon Kent made 15 and Richard Lewis 13 but the Smeeth brothers were in control. Ben took 4 for 53 from 14.4 overs while Alex only conceded 31 runs from 15 overs taking the wickets of Barber, Kent and Adams.

Werrington's openers Ben Smeeth (54no) and Mark Horwell (50no) made steady progress to reach 121 without loss in 38 overs before rain intervened around 6.30pm. The pair matched each other with Smeeth hitting nine fours off 118 balls and Horwell eight fours off 110 balls.

Despite a long delay the players were unable to return with Werrington taking 12 points and Truro nine points for the abandoned game.

On Saturday, second play third with Camborne visiting Boscawen Park while on Sunday the club hosts the league Centenary Finals day.
