The first High Bisquers' tournament for the Read Trophy was played in ideal weather conditions at Cornwall Croquet Club, Porthpean, on Saturday and Sunday.

The American Block scheme (Round Robin) was used, each player participating in three games in his/her block, each game lasted three hours, or less, if one player pegged out prior to the bell.

Paul Schofield and David Edwards, being the winners in their respective blocks, played the final on Sunday, resulting in David winning 17-12.

The trophy was donated by Stephen and Margaret Read who are keen members of the club. High Bisquers are players with a relatively high handicap so likely to be fairly new to the game. Third place went to Joshua Bradshaw, aged 16, one of the club's younger members.
