Countback over the last nine holes gave Jenny Ringsell victory over Margaret Oliver in The West Briton Bowl at Perranporth on Saturday. Both returned 69 and Jenny cut her handicap from 30 to 28. Margaret and Vera Eade, who was third on 70, both play off 18. There were 35 entries. Perranporth lost their Gammon Trophy semi-final against St Enodoc by 5 matches to 2 at Newquay on Sunday.
There were 65 entries for the men's medal which was won by Nick Pepper, with 78-4-68, on Sunday. Russell Milne returned the lowest gross, 75. Divisional scores: I - Neil Razzell 75-7-68; Doug Pedrick 80-11-69. II - Chris Land 84-l3-71; Clive Martin 86-l4-72. III - Kelvin Fulcher 92-24-86, Michael Rich 99-28-71.
