Angry mothers are to form a committee to start their own Falmouth pre-school following the closure of key nursery Giggles and Wiggles.

Led by Rhiannon Taylor, from Old Hill, the mothers met with representatives of Sure Start Pebbles and Falmouth Youth Club - where the pre-school was held - to discuss the future of their children.

Mrs Taylor, whose two-year-old daughter Yasmine attended the pre-school, said: "Most people would like to send their kids to some sort of care. All we're worried about as parents is having a good place for the nursery where our children are safe and happy and learning what they're supposed to. We're not here to play the blame game, we're here to work together."

Another parent, Jo Venus, added: "My daughter is breaking her heart because she's got no playgroup to go back to and won't see her friends."

As revealed in last week's Packet, Giggles and Wiggles announced it was closing due to lack of funding and children and a number of committee members resigning due to other commitments.
