A nation-wide campaign to protect and restore historic roadside fingerposts is being supported by local environmental group Friends of the Lizard.
Concern at the dilapidated state of cast iron fingerposts on the peninsula prompted Friends' members Cathryn Dart and Avril Evens to carry out a photographic survey of the signposts.
The group's secretary, David Richardson, said: "Friends of the Lizard attaches great importance to these fingerposts, which are a locally distinctive and much-loved feature of our heritage. We are concerned that most of them are being allowed to become dilapidated, eroded by neglect and could be lost altogether."
