STAFF are to be banned from driving into work on one day a week at Taunton Deane Council.
Workers at Deane House, in Taunton, will only be able to use the authority's parking spaces four days a week from next year.
On the other day they will have to get into the offices in Belvedere Road on foot, by bus, car sharing or bike.
The initiative is aimed at cutting Taunton's mounting congestion -- and the council is hoping companies and individuals will follow its lead.
