CHARD'S new dental practice came a step closer on Thursday when district councillors approved the sale of land on the business park.
In a behind-closed-doors session of South Somerset District Council's executive committee, members agreed to sell off plot six to Community Dental Centres, the company hoping to build the new practice.
The council has been unable to confirm where plot six is, but it is thought to be the area immediately on the left as people enter the business park from the residential part of Thorndun Park Drive.
As already reported by the News, the eagerly-awaited four-surgery practice is due to be sited on the business park after town centre properties proved unsuitable.
