CHRISTMAS is looking brighter for everyone in Sedgemoor as 61% of licensed premises including pubs got their applications in on time - but 230 premises still missed the deadline.
Mercury reported three weeks ago how Sedgemoor District Council licensing department was waiting to hear from the 590 premises in the area that required a licence under the new Licensing Act 2003.
At that point only 30% had applied and there were concerns that many premises would be unable to open legally during the festive holidays this year.
