The weather had the final say in Truro's home match with Camborne at Boscawen Park on Saturday. Ironically, after a week of hot sunshine in the city, rain fell right on cue on Saturday morning. It continued for long enough to delay play for a couple of hours until after three o'clock. The match was reduced to a 74-over game.

Camborne set off at a good pace through Kevin Roberts and Ian Goldsworthy. The pair added 50 before Roberts was caught by Alex Tunnadine off Jon Kent for 17.

Kent trapped Malcolm Pooley lbw for nine then quickly lost Daniel Mitchell, caught by Chris Martin off the bowling of Tom Sharp. Goldsworthy was going well at the other end, hitting eight boundaries before being dismissed at 112. He was bowled by Sharp for 55.

Tim Edwards soon followed, caught and bowled by Andrew Libby for 12. Camborne were not "done with", however. Scott Harris saw to that, striking four boundaries in his 35.

Camborne reached 181 for 8 in their allotted 37 overs. The wickets were shared by Kent, Sharp, Libby and Alex Tunnadine, all taking a couple apiece.

Truro lost Tim Marrion in the fourth over with the score at 13. He was caught by Ian Goldsworthy off the bowling of Scott Curnow for five.
