Tony Nash warmed up for his appearance in the PGA Cup team by dominating the Tehidy Park pro-am and possibly adding a course record to his name.

The Lostwithiel professional, who represents the British and Irish PGA against the Americans at the K Club next month, invariably does well in his native Cornwall.

He shot six-under-par 65 with seven birdies on the first, sixth, ninth, 11th, 13th,16th and 18th and just one dropped shot on the third with halves of 33 and 32.

European Tour player Stuart Little set the existing record of 62 during his playing days in the region. But the second tee course has just been lengthened by five yards so Nash's score is now the best on the extended course.

Nash cleaned up by leading his usual Cummings of Bodmin team to victory. Former Cornwall rugby captain Grant Champion played a major role off his rapidly improving handicap which now stands at five.
