A charity for homeless people has been recognised as an Investor in People.
St Petroc's Society, which employs staff at hostels and centres in west and north Cornwall, has been supported through the assessment process by Business Link for Devon and Cornwall.
Founded by the Bishop of St Germans in 1985, the society has grown to become the largest independent charity for single homeless people to be based in Cornwall.
From its headquarters in City Road, Truro, the organisation runs two direct access hostels in the city alongside two others in Newquay and Bodmin. St Petroc's Society also runs an outreach project, a rent deposit "Smart Move" scheme to help people settle into rented accommodation, as well as a "floating support" project and a resource centre in Truro.
