It was the best Falmouth Week ever. Shoreside ticket sales exceeded expectations and sailing clubs were inundated with those wanting to take part in the daily regattas.

"The combination of rock, pop, opera and jazz that we offered as part of this year's entertainment line-up really seemed to hit the spot and ensured that the event appealed to the whole community," said Graham Bradshaw of Kernow Events.

His company won the contract to stage this year's live music at Events Square and he hoped no one was disappointed.

On the sailing side, entrants competed for some of the best prizes ever seen by the clubs, which were presented at the Royal Cornwall Yacht Club on Friday.

Henri-Lloyd, main sponsors of the event, donated £3,000 in vouchers to the winners, as well as sailing kit customised with the Henri-Lloyd Falmouth Week 2005 logo for the regatta team.

"We would like to thank all those who contributed to the success of Henri-Lloyd Falmouth Week, and helped us maintain it as the second largest regatta in the UK after Cowes Week," said chairman of the Port of Falmouth Sailing Association, Roger Hollingsworth.
