A collision between a Falmouth water taxi and a fishing boat on Friday night has prompted an investigation after the fishing boat sank and two men had to be rescued.
The crash between the 12ft dinghy and the Ocean Aqua Cab, which operates out of Falmouth Yacht Marina at North Parade, occurred soon after the end of the Falmouth Week firework display, at around 10.15pm,
The boats had just crossed the St Mawes harbour boundary, south of Castle Point, not far from where Benjamin Cochrane from St Mawes died in a boating accident at the end of last month.
The harbour and the Carrick Roads was busy with boats being taken back to their moorings following the firework display. Yesterday, Gary Cairns, the St Mawes harbourmaster, confirmed he was conducting an investigation into the latest collision.
