MEMBERS of Chard's Portuguese community are fearing for their safety after they were targeted in a spate of attacks.
Investigations are under way following two incidents of vandalism in Fore Street, where Portuguese cafes, Cafe Moca and Costa Brava, were left with their windows shattered.
Supt Jon Stratford said the crime at Costa Brava is being treated as a racial attack and procedures are now being set in motion to alleviate the problem.
