A new relief road taking traffic away from a main route through Helston is likely to be open for use early next month.

Construction work on the £1.5 million road linking Clodgey Lane with the Falmouth Road is due to be completed on schedule by the end of this week.

But a safety inspection, and signage work, means the road will not actually open for several weeks.

Helston developer David Martin, who is financing the project, said once the road was built, it was up to the county council exactly when it would open.
