Taunton crashed to a 3-1 defeat against Paulton in their first home game of the season in the Southern League Division One (W) on Wednesday night.
The game hinged on the sending off of Taunton keeper Scott Corderoy who was given his marching orders for swinging a punch on 53 minutes with the score at 1-1.
The visitors went on to score twice more through Mike Kilgour (58) and Jason Drysdale (71) to take the points. Dan Cleverly put Paulton in front on eight minutes with Dean Stevens levelling for Taunton two minutes later.
Near the end of the first half, Town skipper Antony Lynch missed a penalty which was harshly awarded.
This Saturday Taunton take on Hemel Hempstead at Wordsworth Drive.
