BURNHAM Police Station is to reopen its cells this month in an attempt to free up vital police patrol time and make Burnham a safer place.
The move, designed to deal with low-level criminal suspects in the town, will mean officers can detain suspects without having to take the frustrating 25-mile round trip to Bridgwater.
