GRAND plans to build an Olympic standard velodrome in Taunton have been given the thumbs up this week.
As the County Gazette revealed last year farmer Steve Ling from Nyne-head near Wellington hopes to build an Olympic class cycling stadium on his 40-acre field at junction 25 of the M5.
As Mr Ling meets with a developer to discuss collaboration on the mammoth project a spokesperson for the 2012 Olympics said "we welcome the proposal".
