Visitors to this year's South West Woodland Show are in for a treat with a number of exciting attractions planned for the big day. More and more businesses are keen to exhibit and organisers are hoping for a bumper day.

To be held on Friday, September 16, at Exeter Racecourse, Haldon, Devon, and in the adjacent Forestry Commission woods, the biannual event, organised by the Forestry and Timber Association, is a showcase for the forestry industry.

There will be a number of attractions including a corral, complete with cattle and lined with wood chip, a 4 X 4 course, elements of the UK loggers championships and a display of chainsaws through the years. On top of this, Woodland Renaissance, a ground breaking scheme designed to breathe new life into the forestry sector in the region, will be officially launched at the show

Show chairman Charles Fane Trefusis, said: "I think we will have plenty for people to see and do and I'm sure visitors will have an enjoyable day out. I believe all the elements are now in place for a great show."

The South West Woodland Renaissance Partnership aims to regenerate woodland and forestry in the region and has a budget of £2m.
