Mebyon Kernow has reacted with anger to a government announcement that a single fire control centre will be created in Taunton to cover the whole of the South West.
The party has slated what it sees as the Labour Party's continuing obsession with SW regionalisation and branded the coming abolition of the Cornish Fire Control Room as "yet another undemocratic, New Labour fiasco."
MK spokesperson on public services, Hilda Wasley, described herself as "very irate at the news." She has challenged the government to reconsider its decision.
