Angry and "violated" was the response from the owner of a Redruth skip-hire company after a £13,000 lorry was stolen from his locked premises. John Budd, owner and managing director of Bu-Mar Skip Hire in New Portreath Road, Gilbert's Coombe, said the lorry disappeared on Thursday night and he has had to spend £17,000 replacing the lorry in an urgent attempt to reduce the effect on his business. He is now offering a £500 reward for information as to its whereabouts and return. Mr Budd, who is well known in the area, said: "You feel violated. I came in at 7am Friday morning and the gates were wide open and the lorry gone from the middle of the line. I felt sick." The security padlock on the metal gate was cut off and the chain left hanging.
