Nervous weeks of waiting were finally over last Thursday when students from Helston Community College received their A-level results.
An outstanding year for the college saw the overall pass rate reach 98.5 per cent - well above the national average of 96.2 per cent. The college's pass rate for A to C grades was 74 per cent - a massive ten per cent up on last year - while the A and B grade tally rose by six per cent.
Particularly strong results were achieved in subjects including English, where almost all the 42 candidates gained A to C grades, and in photography, where no-one scored less than a B.
