MORE than 1,000 people crowded into Allerford on Sunday for a fete held to raise funds for the village hall.
Numbers were swelled with the arrival of scores of vintage and classic cars and motorcycles from Minehead and North Devon.
Praising hard work by a small army of helpers, Selworthy parish hall committee chairman Steve Taylor said: "Stalls and craft displays together with cream teas helped to ensure the success of the event, and firefighters from Porlock demonstrated firefighting equipment."
Mr Taylor thanked businesses in Porlock and Minehead which had donated raffle prizes.
