CONTESTANTS in the 22nd annual Minehead Raft Race will be putting the final touches to their craft this week ready for the event on Sunday.
Thousands of spectators are expected to throng the seafronts at Minehead and Blue Anchor to watch as the colourful craft take to the water for this popular event, which is in aid of the RNLI.
First home last year, for the second year running, was a team from The Valiant Soldier pub at Roadwater, which was also judged to be the fastest local raft, winning the Louisa Trophy.
A record amount of £7,266 was collected in support of the invaluable work of the RNLI last year.
