AFTER a break of several years, Chard will again have a Carnival Queen as well as a Princess.
The decision was taken when the Princess competition results were announced at the Bellplot House Hotel on Monday.
To gain the Queen title Hayley Gregory, 16, a pupil at Holyrood Community School, sold votes to the value of £545 while Louise Shakespeare, seven, who attends Winsham Primary School, raised £371 to become the Carnival Princess.
Last year's Princess, Alisha Stoodley, is pictured handing over her sash to Louise and Jill Watts whose firm, Three Counties Glazing, will sponsor the dresses and transport.
