MINEHEAD have moved back to the top of Division One in the Shrubbery Hotel Somerset League as the title race took another twist on Saturday.

Their 109-run win away to Evercreech and Ilton's exciting tie at Wellington means the Seasiders now lead the division by nine points.

Wellington openers Mark Salter (33) and Rob Moysey (29) put on 75 after being asked to bat by Ilton.

South African Richard das Neves hit 49 to take the score to 148 before being the fourth man out.

But a fine knock near the end of the innings from Stuart Currall (40no) helped them to a competitive but gettable 193-5.

Australian Damien Aston looked to be single-handedly winning the game for Ilton, smashing the bowling to all parts.

When he was dismissed for 83 Ilton were still favourites with 60 needed from the last 15 overs.

Mohammed Shaffique and Mark Vickery chipped away at the total until four runs were needed from the last over with three wickets left.

Thom Trott conceded just three runs from his first five deliveries to leave the scores even and then had Cox caught with the last ball to leave the scores tied.
