Chard town and district councillor Dave Bulmer has thanked all those who have offered support following the death of his partner, Eunice Garland.
Eunice died in hospital in Yeovil on August 7, after a lengthy battle with cancer. Mr Bulmer said: "Can I express my sincere gratitude to the kind people of Chard and the surrounding villages, for the immense support they have offered Eunice and me during her long and painful illness.
"I would like to express my thanks to the same people who offered their sympathy and thoughts to me, Eunice's daughter Charlotte, and sister Marina, after her passing away. "We have taken great strength from the numerous cards of condolences at this most difficult time in our lives. "It gives us great comfort knowing we live so close to so many good people who really care for one another." Mr Bulmer also thanked his friend, Chard Mayor Tony Prior. "I am grateful to Tony for reading the celebration of Eunice's life at her funeral. "Several other councillors have also been a rock of support to me during this difficult time, and they know who they are."
