BRIDPORT Town 0 FALMOUTH TOWN 3: Away to Bridport in the preliminary round of the FA Cup, Falmouth Town, who shaded the first half on chances and possession, came good in the second half and eventually enjoyed a comfortable win over their Toolstation Western League first division opponents.

Falmouth were forced to travel light to Dorset with only two substitutes - one of them assistant manager Kelvin Hunkin!

Town started brightly and forced several corners, but it was the home side that had the first shot on goal. After six minutes Tony Cunningham was played through the middle but his low shot was blocked by goalkeeper Garry Penhaligon.

Minutes later, Andrew Hitchcock beat Town's offside trap but blasted his shot wide.

After ten minutes Mike Body gained possession after a defender completely missed the ball, but the Town forward, under pressure, was forced wide and hit his shot in the same direction.

Body again found himself clear but in an almost identical situation, shot wide although on this occasion his effort was closer.

After 17 minutes Town won a corner off Bridport skipper Dave Newland and Nathan Perrott's corner found Bradley Ralph whose diving header from 12 yards clipped the bar and went out for a goal kick.

Body and Sundercombe went close for Town in the dying stages of the first half while Bridport's rare ventures forward were either thwarted by the offside trap or just plain sloppiness.
