Camborne suffered a nine wicket win at Roskear against Werrington who, as a result, leap frogged above them to go third in the table.

The home side were put in, but "Town's" high hopes of pulling off a victory faded quckly as they slid to a heavy defeat with plenty of overs remaining.

Camborne were without Dominic Bostock (injured), Darren Shorland and Tim Edwards.

Camborne lost both openers with just five runs on the board with bowlers Ben Smeeth and Ian Wornsnip having a wicket each from catches.

Giles Head, promoted from the 2nd XI, was caught and bowled by Smeeth after he had made four.

Skipper Malcolm Pooley was caught and bowled by Andy Hodgson after he made15 at 57-4.

Kevin Roberts worked to hold the innings together and his 36 included seven fours before he was lbw to Worsnip.

Of the lower order, Jono Hall at 8, made 26 with last man Scott Curnow 17 not out. Extras, 21, took Camborne to 131 in 49.5 overs.

Hodgson returned 9-1-39-4.
