Cornwall's u18 junior boys team narrowly lost their final match of the year against Devon, held at Lostwithiel. The scoreline of eight matches to seven was identical to the defeat against Somerset last month and as Devon and Somerset drew their match it means that these two Counties will share the traingular series Roy Greenaway Trophy for the next 12 months.
Cornwall were under strength for both their matches but can take consolation from the performances of some of the younger players who will be available for selection again next year. At lunch Cornwall were leading by three matches to two after the morning foursomes but only managed to win four of the afternoon singles.
Results: Foursomes, Charles Simpson, Trevose and Matt Floyd, Truro lost 7 and 6; Antony Nash, Lostwithiel and Aaron Stephens, Newquay won 5 and 3; Leo Acklin, Mullion and Tom Haley, Bude lost 2 and 1; Anthony Buchanan, China Fleet and Bradley Keenan, Mullion won two up; Charlie Milano and Alan Lieske both of Mullion won two up.
