TRURO CITY 2 - PLYMOUTH PARKWAY 2: IT'S no quite the end of August, but Truro City's Carlsberg SWL challenge could already be over after they dropped their tenth point in four games following their 2-2 draw with Plymouth Parkway.

It could have been much worse because ten minutes from time in this drab encounter at Treyew Road, City trailed 2-0 and didn't appear to have a prayer of getting a result.

Fortunately, divine intervention in the shape of substitute Luke Wort and with one of the few quality moments of the game scored a spectacular goal to revitalise a City side that looked destined for a third defeat.

A penalty for handball in the final minute provided Andy Bowker with a priceless opportunity to salvage some pride from the penalty spot and this he duly achieved.

However, let not the result mask the shortcomings of this City side. It is all very well saying these are the best young players around, but City are in a hurry to move up through the leagues and if they intend waiting around for the class of 2005 to mature they might find they will have to wait longer than the chairman is anticipating.

Based on the evidence of Saturday's match there is not much to put right because there are probably only two things wrong - they can't defend and they can't score. Solve those problems and they will have a squad that can challenge for the league.
