STUDENTS from Camborne, Pool and Redruth secondary schools were celebrating last week as they collected their GCSE results with many gaining high marks in their exams.

Among those happy with their results was 11-year-old Stephanie Edmunds from Goonhavern who gained a B grade in French (higher tier), five years early.

She collected her results from Pool School and Community College with proud mum Angela at her side. Another Pool student getting her results early was year ten pupil Beckie Power who got an A in maths.

At Camborne Science and Technology College Erica Chick was celebrating gaining one A* and five As while friend Matthew Glasson gained four A*s and five As. Tom Berryman got two A*s and four As and Brian Rossitter got two A*s and five As. Staff at Redruth School were pleased with the results achieved by students with 25 per cent gaining nine or more passes at A* to C grades.

There were some exceptional performances from Vicky Ibbet who achieved nine A*s and three As, Sam Rankin received four A*s and five As, Peter Harvey gained four A*s and four As, Becki Morris got three A*s and six As, Sarah Kelly gained three A*s and five As, and Adam Knuckey gained two A*s and six As.
