A Redruth based community group unveiled a "make-over" to its premises, made possible by a £5,000 DIY product award from the B&Q "You Can Do It" Community Awards 2005.
Carn Brea House Community Group was selected as one of 21 winners in the scheme - having been short-listed from more than 2,000 entries.
Susan Osborne from Carn Brea House was joined by Lee Billington and Tami Cross-Halls from B&Q mini warehouse, Camborne, to celebrate the grand unveiling. The £5,000 worth of products has helped the community group to create a peaceful garden area for the residents and their children, giving them the opportunity to spend time outside of their bed-sits and enjoy the space created.
Susan Osborne said: "We are delighted to reveal the make-over today. Without the "You Can Do It" Community Award from B&Q and help from our local store, we would not have been able to renovate our facilities - it will make a huge difference to the local community who live here."
Additional volunteering and material support was also donated by local businesses within the community.
