THE tragic story of brave Jamie Rendall came to a peaceful end early yesterday (Wednesday) morning when he lost his battle with cancer.

The Somerset County Gazette has been following Jamie's story closely since May when doctors told his family he only had a few weeks to live.

Jamie had fought the illness for over two years and his story inspired people in Taunton Deane to give generously and allow him to live out some of his childhood dreams.

This included sending him to Legoland in Denmark, and taking rides in a helicopter (ABOVE), on a police bike, in a fire engine and even in a Ferrari.

More than £7,000 was raised for Jamie's cause in just a few weeks, which allowed his family to concentrate solely on his welfare during his final weeks.
