STAFF at Taunton's Musgrove Park Hospital are threatening to quit in a row over parking.

A cut in the number of parking permits issued has forced staff who used to hold passes to use car parks outside the hospital grounds.

They now have to walk to work, or use public transport or one of three park-and-ride facilities provided by the Taunton & Somerset NHS Trust.

A letter sent to the Somerset County Gazette by a group of 13 nurses said: "Many staff are contemplating resignation. Many of us are shift workers and finish late at night -- the last thing we want is a ten-minute walk to our cars."
