A FLAVOUR of the Continent is now a permanent fixture in Cotford St Luke near Taunton, thanks to a new international sized petanque pitch.

Sporty villagers from the village are taking up the traditional French pastime of petanque -- or boules, as it is also known.

This Saturday (September 3) at 2pm the new Cotford Petanque Club will be officially opened by the Mayor of Taunton, Cllr Richard Lees, who is set to throw the first boules on the 32-metre long by 15-metre wide piste.
