THOUSANDS of spectators lined the seafronts at Blue Anchor and Minehead on Sunday for the annual raft race in aid of the RNLI.

And organisers are confident they will top last year's total amount collected in support of the lifeboats.

Derek Williams, chairman of the raft race committee, said: "This year's raft race was one of the best yet. The state of the sea was superb, and the weather was just right."
