A Minehead fishing boat skipper wants the Government to make it easier for weekend sailors to get equipped with radio facilities.

The call has come from Steve Pilbrow, skipper of Minehead fishing boat Fulmar, in the wake of an urgent appeal by the RNLI, which has urged all sea users to have a VHF marine radio set rather than rely on mobile phones.

Now, West Somerset MP Ian Liddell-Grainger has waded in with a call for tax relief for sailors on equipment and training.
