BRIDGWATER College this week renewed its planning bid for a £4million 400-seat theatre at its College Way campus - and will hope to see off a rival bid to build a skate park on the same plot of land.
The college first revealed its plans for an on-site state-of-the-art theatre and performing arts venue back in April, when bosses initially submitted their plans.
The project was briefly withdrawn to allow environmental impact assessments to be carried out ahead of the bid being assessed by Sedgemoor District Council planners.
That study has now been completed, and the grand scheme is now back on the agenda - with college vice-principal Mike Robbins telling the Mercury he is confident the project will be given the go-ahead.
