THE auction and fresh produce market in Bridgwater's Cornhill sold its last lot on Wednesday as traders and customers said farewell to what has become a weekly institution for many older residents in the area.
Every week people travel in from Weston, Wells and surrounding villages to enjoy a chat with friends and buy fresh produce cheeply - but now it has shut for the major refurbishment of the landmark.
