The Jolly's Drinks League management committee meet this week and will discuss a formal request from Callington Cricket Club that their 1st XI voluntarily drop down to County Division 1 for the 2006 season.
Relegation is not automatic this season, following the withdrawals of Menheniot and Helston. It was the general view at a meeting of Premier League clubs, with the LMC at the beginning of July, that if the bottom club wished to go down it would enable an eight team division to be formed, playing each other on three occasions, in 2006 rather than 2007.
Callington are detached at the bottom of the Premier League, 79 points adrift, with one game to play. The rest of the Cornwall League completed their season over the weekend. Elsewhere eight of the 12 championships were decided on the final day.
In the west St Gluvias got the win they required at St Just to take the Division Two title from Perranarworthal by 14 points. As with Bude in the east, Wendron, despite losing fewer games, lost out to Hayle in Division Three by nine points. Botallack won Division Four by seven points from Gerrans.
