Truro Cathedral has just published a new fundraising calendar for 2006 to help in the restoration of its central tower.

Having just completed the restoration of the cathedral's West Front, the cathedral authorities are wasting no time in fundraising for the next big project, the restoration of the central Victoria tower.

A full colour calendar has just gone on sale in the cathedral shop at £4.99 - sales of which will help the cathedral with its fundraising.

The calendar is part funded by Carrek Ltd - the restoration project contractors - and outlines not only the various different stages involved in this most recent phase of the restoration but also has some inspirational images from inside the building.

Richard Glover, the cathedral's chief executive, is delighted with progress so far.

He said: "The West Front restoration couldn't have gone better - all the work was completed within nine months and all to budget. This calendar is the first of our 'Inspire' branded products to be launched; it partly celebrates the 125th anniversary of the cathedral and also the completion of the restoration of the West Front. We are optimistic that it will sell well in the run up to Christmas."

Acting dean, Perran Gay added: "The calendar has been produced by our communications department and is a wonderful product - an ideal Christmas presents for family and friends. We would like the people of Cornwall to really get behind us and support the cathedral by buying the calendar."
