AN Illogan woman has grown a flower that could be a contender for a famous book of records.

Mary Matthews, of Coronation Road, contacted the Packet about a six-headed sunflower, which was growing in her back garden.

"There were a couple of sunflower plants growing in the garden, and this one survived," said Mary. "I thought, that's looking funny, it's not a very tall plant, but it's strange because it looks like it has more heads to come out. There's six of the things on it."

What makes the six-headed plant even more bizarre is the fact that Mrs Matthews did not actually plant the sunflower. It grew because the birds she feeds in her garden dropped the seeds onto the ground.
