A new relief road taking traffic away from a main route through Helston is likely to open within the next few weeks.

Construction work on the £1.5 million road linking Clodgey Lane with the Falmouth Road is complete, and an initial safety inspection was carried out on Thursday.

Road signs have yet to be installed, but once those are in place a further inspection will be carried out and the road is likely to open shortly afterwards.

Helston developer David Martin, who is financing the project, said he was hopeful the county council would open the road within the next couple of weeks.
