THE County Gazette wants to show our boys from 40 Commando exactly how much we appreciate what they’re doing for their country, putting their lives on the line in the fight against evil.
We want their partners and children at home to know we’re with them all the way, and we need your help to show the strength of support they have here in the Taunton, Wellington and West Somerset area.
There are two ways you can show your solidarity with our Marines.
We’re asking businesses and individuals to get behind our boys and their families by displaying our Shoulder to Shoulder posters in their windows – Download the Shoulder To Shoulder poster here: Shoulder To Shoulder Poster.pdf.
We also want you to leave your messages of support for the Marines and their families on our site - just fill in the Your Say box on this page.
Taunton Deane Mayor Cllr Jefferson Horsley attended the repatriation of the bodies of three 40 Commando Marines in Wootton Bassett this week.
He said: “I wholeheartedly endorse this campaign, and will do whatever I can to play my part in it, and raise the profile of the Marines and their families.”
