SOMERSET'S captain Cameron White hit 141 not out to smash the Twenty20 Cup record but couldn't save his side from a three-wicket defeat away to Worcestershire on Sunday.
The Australian's knock, which came from just 70 balls, helped his side to 198-4.
But the hosts got home with an over to spare on the back of Graeme Hick's unbeaten 97.
White's superlative effort, which included 14 fours and six sixes, defeated the previous record of 116 held jointly by him, Hick and Glamorgan's Ian Thomas.
The defeat leaves Somerset bottom of the Wales, West and Midlands group with five defeats from seven games.
