PUPILS from St George’s RC Primary School, in Taunton, are sending off a consignment of sweets to 40 Commando.
The children filled up a large box in the school hall so the Marines have something to munch on out in Afghanistan – and also to give to Afghan children.
Head teacher Peter Hanratty said: “St George’s has had a long association with the Royal Marines based at Norton Manor Camp – a long list of Marine families have sent their children to our school over the years.
“We wanted to show our support for those currently serving in Afghanistan in a way that reflects a school.”
