THE garden opera company is bringing Mozart's 'Cos fan Tutte' to Vivary Park in Taunton as part of the Westival Arts Festival on Friday, August 4, at 7pm.

A village green in 1914, the Great War rumbling in Europe: two sisters flirt with chaps in cricket blazers.

Shouldn't they all be concentrating on the match? But the couples find their fidelities tested in a tale of cunning plots and comic disguises, desires, bets, tricks and fickle lovers. Now cricket's not the only game being played!

'Cos fan Tutte' encompasses the emotional world of adolescence with wit and compassion, and with music which includes some of the most sublime arias Mozart ever wrote.

Garden Opera specialises in bringing opera to life in a highly entertaining and approachable way, whether you are a newcomer or a seasoned opera buff.

They perform in English, with a piano and a small but highly-accomplished six-piece ensemble, working with professionally trained, talented young singers. And on this occasion, that includes an act one chorus of youngsters who will have taken the Garden Opera workshop during the day.

The Taunton Flower Show has very kindly made one of their marquees available for the performance, so it will be going ahead rain or shine.

You can get your tickets from the Brewhouse Box Office on 01823-283244 - and don't forget the Westival Wishlist - any five tickets will get you a 10% discount.
