A YOUNG man is recovering after being viscously attacked during a robbery in French Weir Park in Taunton.

The incident happened at midnight on Tuesday July 12 as a 22-year-old local man walked though the park.

He was approached by two men on bicycles who spoke to him before pushing him to the ground with a series of punches and kicks and then robbed of his phone and wallet containing cash, cards and a driving license.

The victim suffered a black eye and bruised ribs.

The first attacker is described as a white man, aged 19 to 25 years, 5ft 2ins tall with a stocky build.

He was wearing a brown baseball cap, white T-Shirt and blue jeans.

The second attacker was also a white man of the same age, but 6ft 4ins tall, stocky build and wearing a blue T-Shirt with a No Fear logo on the front and blue jeans.

Both attackers are described as having a London accent.

Police would like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the robbery or may know the offenders involved.
