THERE was no specific mention of the Taunton-based UK Hydrographic Office in the Government’s spending review.
The facility, in Admiralty Way, is subject to a separate asset management review “to determine its future and contribution to the Government’s spending review”.
A spokeswoman said: “The UKHO is a particularly complex business with a strong international dimension and a final recommendation to the Secretary of State for Defence has yet to be agreed.
“The asset management review work continues to progress and an announcement will be made later in the year once a decision has been made.”
